School and Community

Bradenton Prep Academy–Dubai is a K-12 co-educational American curriculum school in Dubai Sports City. BPA was established in 2009 and acquired as a GEMS school in 2013.  BPA currently hosts nearly 800 students with more than 60 nationalities. BPA strives to prepare students for the challenges of the future, equipping them to face confidently the challenges of the 21st century. Students at BPA benefit from a variety of learning experiences facilitated by an international staff of educators in a purpose built, modern building surrounded by Dubai Sports City and the Sports Academies.



Bradenton is accredited by Accreditation International and has received Candidate status from New England Association for Schools and Colleges (NEASC).


The Curriculum

As a private, co-educational day school, BPA’s curriculum is based on AERO Common Core Plus. The language of instruction is English. Following the UAE’s educational guidelines, all students must take Arabic until the end of Grade 9, while students of the Arabic speaking countries are required to study Arabic until graduation. Muslim students are required to study Islamic Education as part of their academic schedule through the end of grade 12. Students in grades 9-12 follow a university preparatory program of study.  

Advanced Placement (AP)courses are offered to students in grades 11 and 12. BPA’s academic calendar consists of two semesters starting in September and ending in June. Students follow an eight day, eight period rotating schedule. One-half (.5) credit is awarded for the successful completion of each semester course with a minimum passing mark of D-.


High School Diploma Requirements

Graduation requirements include 27 credits. Twenty-five hours of community,service is recommended for graduation at Bradenton Prep Academy. Courses required to graduate are determined by KHDA, the Ministry of Education in the UAE: English 4, Math 4, Science 4, Social Studies 3,World Languages 2, Physical Education 2, Visual/Performing Arts 1, and Technology 1. BPA offers the following AP Courses: Literature, Language, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History and Computer Science.


All students completing the graduation requirements receive a US High School Diploma. The Class of 2014 was the first graduating class from Bradenton Prep Academy.  BPA’s grading scale is based on a 4.0 grading scale. Only grades acquired at BPA are on BPA’s transcript. AP Courses: An additional 0.25 will be added to the weighting.


Class Rank and Grade Point Average:

We do not report class rank due to the mobility of our students and the diversity of their educational backgrounds.
